Pickles Merino Silk, base colour

Daisy colours
50 (50) 50 (50) 50 g each in 3 different colours

You can also use Pickles Extra Fine Merino.

Needles
US 4 circular and double pointed

Gauge
4” = 21 S

The vest is knit bottom up and the decreases are done between rows of daisies.

 

Body piece
Knit in the round.

Cast on 120 s on US 4 needles. K2, p2 for 1”. Place marker after 60 stitches and at the beginning of the round, to mark the sides of the vest.

Knit stockinette until the piece measures 9”. On the next row knit until 4 stitches before the first marker. Bind off 8 stitches. Repeat for the other side. Knit until you are at the middle back. Put aside.

Arm edges
Cast on 48 stitches on US 4 DPNs with base colour. K2, p2 for about 1”. Bind off the first 8 stitches of the next round. Make another and place them onto the circular needle with the body piece. You will need an extra needle to keep some of the stitches on while you get them on there. Make sure everything lines up right. You want the bind off edges facing eachother. Knit back and forth from now on.

Daisy piece
Switch to colour 1.
Row 1: K, M1 at the end of the row. (you will have 185 stitches alltogether)
Row 2: *K1, P3tog, (don´t let the stitches of the needle), YO, Purl the same 3 stitches together again* K1.

Switch to colour 2.
Row 3: K.
Row 4: K1, P1, *K1, P3tog, (don´t let the stitches of the needle), YO, Purl the same 3 stitches together again
* K1, P1, K1.

Switch to colour 3:
Repeat row 1 and 2.

Switch to base colour.
Knit one row while decreasing 24 stitches evenly. Decrease by knitting 2 stitches together. Knit one row. Repeat from beginning of daisy piece until you have 3 more rows of daisies.

Switch to base colour.

Knit one row while decreasing 24 stitches evenly. Knit one row back. Repeat from beginning of daisy piece until you have 3 more rows of daisies.

Switch to base colour.
Knit one row while decreasing 24 stitches evenly. Knit one row back. Repeat from beginning of daisy piece until you have 3 more rows of daisies.

Switch to base colour.
Knit one row while decreasing 25 stitches evenly. You now have 88 stitches. Continue in the round, K2, P2 for about 1". Bind off very loosely. You might want to use a bigger needle to make sure it don´t get too tight.

Assemble and wear!
