Classic Tweed Sweater

We can’t get enough of classic raglan sweaters. This feminine sweater is knitted in our most exclusive quality. It can be worn all year, as the sleeves are 3/4 long and the cashmere has both warming and cooling effect.

Knitted bottom-up.
Cast on 164 s on US 2 1/2 circular needles and work ribbing, K1b, P 1 for about 1.5”.

Place markers after 41 s and 123 s to mark the sides = 82 s each for the front and back. Change to US 4 needles and continue in stockinette until your piece measures 12.5 “

On the next round, bind off 3 s on each side of each marker = 152 s. Put aside while making the sleeves.

Sleeves
Cast on 38 s on DPN US 2 1/2 and work ribbing, K1b, P 1 for about 1.5”. Change to US 4 needles and continue in stockinette. Increase 1 s on each side of the first and last s on the round every 1” until you have increased 13 times alltogether. When the arm measures 11.5”, bind off 6 stitches under the sleeve = 58 s.

Make another sleeve.

Raglan decrease
Line up all the parts on to the US 7 circular needle. = 268 s.
Knit one round. Place markers between all the parts. (4 markers in total) Round starts in the middle back.

Decrease #1 - decreasing only on the front and back pieces.
Round 1: Work until 3 s is left before the 1st marker. SSK. Knit 1 s past the 2nd marker. K2tog. Knit until 3 s is left before the 3rd marker. SSK. Knit 1 s past the 4th marker. K2tog. (= 4 s decreased)
Round 2: Knit.

Repeat the “Decrease #1”rounds 5 times alltogether.

Decrease #2 - decreasing on all pieces.
Round 1: *Work until 3 s is left before marker. SSK. K2 s. K2tog.* Repeat for all 4 markers. (= 8 s decreased)
Round 2: Knit.

Repeat the “Decrease #2” rounds 19 times alltogether.

Then repeat the “Decrease #1”rounds 2 times more. You now have 91 s. Work ribbing as before on US 2 1/2for 1” and bind off.
