Close Cables Cowl

Close Cables Cowl is simply a tube, knit in the round, first on a small needle, then on a big fat needle. That´s it. No increasing or decreasing needed, a perfect introduction to cables ;)

Yarn
Abuelita Thick and Thin 200 (300) g

Needles
Short circular needle US 9 and long circular needle US 19
Cable needle (We used an additional short circular needle, size not important)

Gauge
Increasing as you go, as long as you use the recommended needle size, you´ll be fine.

Pattern
Cast on 80 (100) s on a small circular needle us 9, join in the round and and knit the following rounds 4 (5) times:

Round 1 - 4: *K 8 s, P 2 s* Repeat between * and * until end of the round.
Round 5: *Place 4 s on cable needle in front of the work. K the next 4 s. K the 4 s from cable needle. P 2 s.* Repeat between * and * until end of the round.
Round 6-8: As round 1-4.

Switch to US 19 needles. Repeat the 8 rounds 4 (5) more times, but the last time, bind off directly after round 5 in the following manner:

Switch back to US 9 needles. Use a regular bind off, but knit twice in each stitch before binding them off, to make the bind off edge loose enough. Do this by knitting first in the front loop of the stitch, then in the back loop. Pull first stitch over and off as usual, before knitting in the front loop of the next stitch. Pull over and off again, before knitting in the back loop. Pull over and off. And so on until you´ve made your way around. Weave in the loose ends.
