The body

Knit a rib like this: P1 * K2, P2*
Repeat from * to * until 3 stitches remain. K2, P1.
When the piece is 1.6”, swicth to circular needles US 19.
Continue like this:
**
P1 * K10, P2*.
Repeat from * to * , but end the round with P1 instead of 2.

After 6 rounds, knit the first round of cables:
P1. *Cable, twisted right. P2*.
Repeat between * and * until you have 2 cables.

*Cable, twisted left. P2*.
Repeat between * and * until you have 2 cables, but end with P1 instead of P2.

Continue in the established P2, K10 pattern, and knit a round of cables on every 14th round (13 rounds inbetween).

Cast off for sleeves when the piece is 18.1”, and you´ve just finished a round of even numbers (of the 13 rounds between each cable).
Cast off 2 s in each side, 1 s on each side of the markers = 46 s on each side.

Front and back pieces
Start from the right side on one of the pieces. If you are about to knit a row of cables, go to the cable row below, if not start on row 1 below.

Row 1: *K10, P2*
Repeat between * and * until 10 s remain, K10.

Row 2: *P10, K2*
Repeat between * and * until 10 s remain, P10.

Cable row
*Knit cable, twisted right, P2*.
Repeat between * and * until you have 2 cables.
*Knit cable, twisted left, P2*.
Repeat between * and * until you have 2 cables, but do not P2 at the last repetition.

Place the stitches on to a spare set of circular needles when the piece is 25.5”.
Knit the other piece in the same manner.

Use kitchener´s stitch to weave the 12 stitches on each shoulder together.
Use circular needles US 15 to knit a rib, K2, P2 over the remaining 44 s.
Cast off when the rib is about 1.5”.

Sleeves
Pick up 30 s around each sleeve hole using US 19 needles (we used magic loop to amke the circular needle fit (pull out the cords a couple of places along the round)).
Start knitting from right under the sleeve:
P 4, K10, P2, K10, P 4.

Knit a round of cables after 6 rounds and then every 14th round like this:
P 4, cable, twisted right, P2, cable, twisted left, P 4.

Change to DP needles US 15 after about 14.5”.
Knit a rib, P2, K2, for about 1.5” before casting off.

This is a simple sweater. You just need to know how to knit a cable, and seriously; that´s not too hard!
As the sweater is constructed with giant cables, making sizes is pretty tricky. Also, the garment is very stretchy because of the large needles. Make sure to measure and think about if you want a baggy or a more fitted sweater. Even if you normally are S/M you can choose the L/XL if you´d like a very baggy sweater.
The larger size has 4 extra cables, 2 in each side.

The body
Cast on 96 stitches on circular needles US 15.
Knit a rib like this:
P1 * K2, P2*

Repeat from * to * until 3 stitches remain. K2, P1.

When the piece is 1.6”, swicth to circular needles US 19.
Continue like this:

P1 * K10, P2*
Repeat from * to *, but end the round with 1 P instead of 2.

After 6 rounds, knit the first round of cables:
P1. *Cable, twisted right: Put the next 5 stitches on a spare needle. Put the needle behind the yarn and knit the 5 next stitches. Knit the 5 stitches on the spare needle. P2*
Repeat cable, twisted right 2 times in total.

*Cable, twisted left: Put the next 5 stitches on a spare needle. Put the needle in front of the yarn and knit the 5 next stitches. Knit the 5 stitches on the spare needle. P2*
Repeat cable, twisted left 2 times in total, but end with P1 instead of P2.

Repeat the two paragraphs above on the other half.

Continue like before, and knit a round of cables on every 14th round (after 13 rounds)
Cast off for sleeves when the piece is 18.1”, and you´ve just finished a round of even numbers (of the 13 rounds between each cable).
Cast off the 2 purled stitches in each side on the next round = 46 s on each side.

Start from the right side on one of the pieces.

Row 1:
*K10, P2*
Repeat from * to *, but don´t P2 on the last repetition.

Row 2:
*P10, K2*
Repeat from * to *, but don´t K2 on the last repetition.

Knit the cables like before, on every 14th row like this:

Knit 2 cables, twisted right and 2 cables, twisted left, but don´t P2 at the end of the row.

Place the stitches on to a spare set of circular needles when the piece is 25.5 ”.
Knit the other piece in the same manner.
Use kitchener´s stitch to weave the 12 stitches on each shoulder together.

Use circular needles US 15 to knit a rib, K2, P2 over the remaining 44 s.
Cast off when the rib is about 1.5”.

Sleeves
Pick up 30 s around each sleeve hole using US 19 needles.
Start knitting from right under the sleeve.
Knit like this:
P 4, K10, P2, K10, P 4.

Knit a round of cables after 6 rounds and then every 14th round like this:

P 4, cable, twisted right, P2, cable, twisted left; P 4.

Change to DP needles US 15 after about 14.5)”.
Knit a rib, P2, K2, for about 1.5” before casting off.
