A great gift, both useful and colourful;) You´ll get a bunch of these with the balls we´ve recommended if you mix and match.

Yarn
Pickles Extra Fine Merino, double strands
50 g of 6-7 different colours

Needles
DP needles US 10

Square-cosy
Cast on 24 stitches in the main colour (use double strands for the entire project)
Knit a rib, K1, P1 for about 0.8”. Knit 1 round and increase 8 stitches evenly. Purl 1 round.

Knit the pattern like this * Slip 1, K3 in pattern colour* Repeat from * to * for 3 rounds in total. Knit 1 round and purl 1 round in the main colour. 
K2 in pattern colour
Slip 1, K3 in pattern colour* Repeat from * to * until 2 stitches remain, slip 1, K1 in pattern colour.
Knit 3 round in total like this (start from K2)
Knit 1 round and purl 1 round in the main colour.

Repeat the two paragraphs above until you have 5 stripes of different colours (2 1/2 repetitions) Don´t purl the last round in the last repetition. .
Knit a rib, K1, P1 for about 0.8”. Cast off.

Daisy-cosy
Knit the Daisy like this: 
K3tog, don´t lift the stitch off the needle, YO, K3tog, lift the 3 new stitches off the left needle. (don´t knit too tightly!) 
Cast on 24 stitches in the main colour (use double strands for the entire project) Knit a rib, K1, P1 for about 0.8”. 
Knit 1 round and increase 8 stitches evenly.
Knit the pattern like this  

Daisy 1:
Knit 1 round in pattern colour
* 1 Daisy, P1.* Repeat from * to * throughout the round

Daisy 2
Knit 1 round in pattern colour
Slip 1.
*P1, 1 Daisy.* Repeat from * to * until 2 stitches remain. Use the first slipped stitch of the round with the 2 remaining stitches to knit 1 daisy. Place the last stitch on the right needle on to the left needle to make sure the round starts where it should again.

Repeat Daisy 1 and Daisy 2 until you have at least 7 stripes of daisies.

Knit a rib, K1, P1 for about 0.8”. Cast off.

Garter-cosy  
Make a chain of at least 20 chain stitches using your fingers. 
Use the chain and pick up one stitch in each stitch using double strands, 1 in the main colour 1 in a pattern colour.

Knit garter stitch back and forth, and change the pattern colour where desired. After about 5.9” after finishing a row from the wrong side, release the thread with chain stitches, and place the stitches on to a spare needle. Assemble using the kitchener´s stitch. You can also just cast on like normal and cast off like normal. Just make sure to knit a bit longer to allow room for the seam.
