Dean-sweater
As Pickels is pretty time consuming, it´s important to spoil the guys at home with homemade garments. Sigurd wanted a sweater like one James Dean wore on a photo shoot. It didn´t really turn out to look all that similar, but as long as Sigurd is happy, who cares.

Needles
DP and large circular needles US 10 1/2 and 11
Gauge per 4"
11 stitches
Width
about 19.2 (20.7) 21.2 (22.9)"
Body
Cast on 118 stitches on circular needles US 10 1/2. Knit a rib in the round, K1, P1, over the next 2".
Place marker (PM) at the beginning of the round and after 59 stitches to mark the sides.
Change to needles US 11, and knit in stockinette until the piece is 17.3".
Cast off 4 stitches in each side, 2 stitches on both sides of the PM = 110 stitches.
Put the work aside.
Sleeves
Cast on 28 stitches on DP needles US 10 1/2. Knit a rib in the round, K1, P1 over the next 2".
Change to needles US 11, and start knitting in stockinette.
Increase 1 stitch on both sides of the two stitches right under the sleeve.
Repeat this way of increasing every 1.3", 14 times in total = 56 stitches.
Knit until the sleeve is 21.6".
Cast off the 4 stitches right under the sleeve.
Knit another sleeve.
Raglan decrease
Put the sleeves on to the circular needles where you made the cast off for sleeves = 214 stitches.
Continue in stockinette. Place markers (PM) in between the sleeves and the body piece= 4 PM in total.
Decrease like this
*Knit until you reach a PM, ssk, K2, K2tog*.
Repeat from * to * throughout the round.
Knit one round.
Repeat the paragraph above until you have knitted 18 (19) 20 (21) rounds of decreasements = 54 stitches.
Decrease 4 stitches evenly on the next round = 50 stitches.
Change to US needles 10 1/2 and knit a rib, K1, P1 over the next 8.6".
Cast off loosely to make sure the sweater will fit over the head.
