Divide your piece into front and back. = 130 s each front/back.
Front pieces:
Continue knitting back and forth in stockinette. K two rows. Then on the next row K 57 s and place the next 16 s on a different needle or thread. Finish the two sides separately: Decrease for neck opening on every 2. row like this: 2 stitches 3 times and 1 stitch 3 times. = 48 stitches left on each side. Continue until your piece measures 5.5" from under the arms. Leave the stitches on the needles to assemble with kitchener stitch
Back piece:
Knit stockinette until the piece measures 4". On the next row knit like this: K 51 stitches and place the next 28 s on a different needle or thread. Finish the two sides separately: Decrease for neck opening on every 2. row like this: 2 stitches 1 time and 1 stitch 1 time = 48 stitches left on each side.
Continue until your piece measures 5.5" from under the arms. Assemble front to back pieces with kitchener stitch
Neck edging:
With US 6 needles K the 28 stitches in the back. Then pick up 43 stitches in between the back and front, before K the 16 stitches in the front. Pick up 43 on the other side as well. K1, P1 for 2". Cast off, a little on the tight side. (It might be a good idea to go down on needle size for the cast off.)
Arm edges:
Pick up 41 stitches around the arms and K1, P1 for 2". Cast off, very loosely. (It might be a good idea to go up a few needle sizes for the cast off.)
