Easy Breezy Summer Top

We love blue cornflowers and pink perlargoinum! This simple summer top is inspired by their colours. We have used a matt cotton/linen yarn against a shiny cotton viscose yarn mixed with a thin mohair yarn. It works really well together, and the simple drop stitch structure adds a nice finish. This top is easy and quick, and you´ll get it done with just knit stiches apart from a couple of rows of purling. It´s perfect for tv-knitting and well suited for beginners.

How we did it
Cast on 60 s loosely on your circular needles using the cotton/linen yarn.
Knit garter stitch back and forth until it measures 4".
Knit the last row from the inside, and increase one s at the beginning and the end of the row.

PATTERN 1:
Use double thread; one cotton-viscose and one mohair. Start from the front.
Knit 1 row, purl 1 row
Now start knitting the structure. When you encounter the term STRUCTURE later on in the pattern, it means you should knit these two rows:
Row 1: * Knit 1, Yarn over *. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row, but finish off by a knit stitch without a yarn over afterwards.
Row 2: Knit all the original stitches, and drop the yarn over off the needle.
Knit 1 row, purl 1 row.
Use the cotton/linen yarn and knit 6 rows.
Increase one stitch in the beginning and the end of row 1 and 5.

Use the cotton/linen yarn and knit 6,7".
On the next row, cast off the 30 stitches in the middle for the neck.
Cast these 30 stitches on again on the next row.
Knit 7,1". You´ll knit a longer piece here because it´s for the back, and it makes the neck looks better on.
Repeat PATTERN 4, but cast off the 14 stitches instead of increasing.
Use the cotton/linen yarn and knit 6 rows.
Repeat PATTERN 3
Use the cotton/linen yarn and knit 6 rows.
Repeat PATTERN 2
Use the cotton/linen yarn and knit 6 rows.
Cast off one stitch in the beginning and the end of row 2 and 6.
Repeat PATTERN 1
Use the cotton/linen yarn and start knitting. Cast off 1 stitch at the beginning and the end of row 1. Continue knitting for 4". Cast off loosely. Assemble loose ends and sew the sides together.
