Yarn
150 g Pickles Cashwool Irregular, we used pale kakhi
(100 g for just the hat)
100 g Pickles Thick & Thin. We used JUST about 1 skein, so you might want to get teo skeins.
Needles
Wristwarmers: DP needles US 10 1/2
Hat: Small circular needles and DP needles US 13
Gauge
Wristwarmers: 12 stitches = 4"
Hat: 10 stitches = 4"
HAT
Cast on 44 stitches on needles US 13. Knit a rib, K1, P1, in the round for about 2.4".
Start knitting in stockinette, and increase 8 stitches evenly throughout the first round.
When the piece is about 9" from the start, you´ll start decreasing:
K2tog 8 times in total evenly throughout the next round.
K 1 round.
K2tog 8 times in total evenly throughout the next round.
K 1 round.
K2tog 8 times in total evenly throughout the next round.
K 1 round.
K2tog 10 times in total evenly throughout the next round.
K2tog until 8 stitches remain. Cut the yarn, and pull it through the remaining stitches.
WRIST WARMERS
Cast on 24 stitches on DP needles US 10 1/2. 6 stitches on each needle.
Knit a rib, K1, P1, in the round for about 1.2".
Start knitting in stockinette.
When the piece is about 4", stop knitting 3 stitches before reaching the end of the round.
Put the 3 last stitches and 3 first stitches on the round on a thread (for thumb).
Cast on 2 ekstra stitches under the thumb, and continue knitting in stockinette until the main piece is 5.5". Knit a rib, K1, P1, for 0.8". Cast off.
Thumb
Put the stiches back on the needles. Cast on 2 extra stickes under the thumb. Knit a rib, K1, P1, for about 0.8". Cast off.
Knit another wrist warmer.
