hi! thanks for sharing this pattern. my question is, when i start the first heart pattern, how many will i knit in the base colour before i start the next heart pattern in the same row (again).

thanks so much!

Hi kona4ever, not sure we understand your question. Follow the chart in the pattern to get the hearts right :)

september 11, 2010 | Registered Commenterpickles

sorry, maybe this makes more sense....

the first round when starting the heart pattern will be k1 in 2nd color(1st heart color), then k10 in base color, k1 in second color, etc....is what i understand from the graph - is that correct?

again sorry if it's hard to understand, this is my first shot at knitting patterns....

thanks for your patience

Now i've knit:
1,2,3, 4 rows: k4, p4
5,6,7,8 rows: p4, k4

And it works (:

I love love love this hat & mittens. What were the colours used?

We´ve run out of the colours.

I spotted what I think might be an error but I could be wrong! In the chart for the hearts on the hat, the second row from the top, the first square on the right should be the background color and not the heart color to make the dip in the heart. I looked at your photo and it looks that way in there just not the chart.

Can you share what colors you used for the hat?

I've made the hat and it's really really nice, but it got a little thick with all the threads from the coloured hearts following on the inside. What is the best way of changing colour for the hearts to background?
Thank you for sharing this lovely pattern!
