Fruity branch weights

We haven´t had our gardens for ages, and most of the plants are fairly new. Last year we got a pear and a plum tree, and their branches tend to grow towards the sky, when they really should grow more outwards. To help the branches we´ve made these colourful branch weights.

Please note: This pattern uses American terminology.

How we did it

Pear
Round 1: Crochet three chain stitches, make a loop by making a slip stitch in the first chain stitch.

Round 2: 6 single crochets around the loop.

Round 3 - 4: crochet: 2 single crochets in each stitch. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 5: * One single crochet, 2 single crochet stitches in one stitch.* Repeat from * to*. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 6 - 8: Single crochet. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 9 - 11: * 2 single crochet, 2 single crochet in one stitch.* Repeat from * to*. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 12 - 13: Single crochet. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 14: * 3 single crochet, 2 single crochet in one stitch.* Repeat from * to*. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 15 - 16: Single crochet. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 17: *2 single crochet, crochet the next two together*. Repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 18: Single crochet. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 19: *2 single crochet, crochet the next two together*. Repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 20: Single crochet into every second stitch. Close the round with a slip stitch.

Round 21: Make loops. 2 chain stitches, jump two stitches, slip stitch into the third. Repeat two more times.

Assemble the ends.

Create a 20 cm line of chain stitches. Put it through the loops to hang.

Plum:

Round 13: *5 single crochet, crochet the next two stitches together*. repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 14: *4 single crochet, crochet the next two stitches together*. repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 15: *3 single crochet, crochet the next two stitches together*. repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 16: *2 single crochet, crochet the next two stitches together*. repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 17: *1 single crochet, crochet the next two stitches together*. repeat from * to *. Close the round with a slip stitch. Make a chain stitch.

Round 18: Single crochet into every second stitch.
