A light and soft summer sweater knitted in our fantastic organic plant dyed cotton. The sweater is an easy knit and suitable for beginners.
Cast on 120 s on a long circular needle US 8. Place a marker at the beginning of the round and after 60 s to mark the sides. knit ribbing K1 P1 for about 2”. Change to US 11 needles and continue in stockinette until your piece measures 11.5 “. Then increase for arms by repeating the following two rounds 4 times:
Round 1: K1 s, M1 s. Knit until 1 s is left before the next marker, M1s. K2 s, M1 s. Knit until 1 s is left before the last marker. M1 s, K1 s.
Round 2: Knit.
You now have 136 s.
Split into front and back pieces, 68 s on each part. they are now knitted separately in stockinette back and forth. Knit each piece until they are 6.5 “ from where you separated.
Use kitchener stitch to assemble 19 s from each part on each shoulder. Start on the outer shoulder and work your way towards the neck opening on each side. Leave a tail, but don´t weave it in yet. Leave the rest of the s for neck opening.
Use the US 8 needle and knit ribbing K1, P1 for about 1.5”. Bind off. Use the tails from the shoulder assembelling to tighten on each side if holes.
Pick up 40 s around each of the arm openings with the short US 11 needle and work stockinette for about 4.5“. Change to US 8 needle and finish off with ribbing, K1, P1 for 1.5 “ before binding off.
