We love spending time outdoors. But as there are some chilly Spring days as well as some cool Summer nights ahead, a terracce blanket is a must. This warm yet airy blanket is great for colder days outside, as well as inside when the Summer is gone.
The measurements are approx. 43x43".
Yarn
800 g Abuelita Merino Worsted, 200 g of each colour
Needles
Crochet needle US 10
Round 1:
6 chain stitches. Make a loop with a slip stitch into the first chain stitch.
Round 2:
3 chain stitches (= the first double crochet), 2 dc into the loop, 3 chain stitches. *3 dc into the loop, 3 chain stitches*, repeat from * to * 3 times in total. Finish the round with a slip stitch into the first dc (the one made from 3 chain stitches). You will now have 4 clusters of dcs around the loop.
Round 3:
Turn the work. Change colour. We´ve made a method to get rid of all loose ends. If you hate loose ends, you should try it. It might be even prettier if you choose to sew all the ends, but man, how boring...
1. Tie the two colours together tightly. Use a double knot.
2. Make another double knot under the chain stitches from the previous round.
3. Start the new round. The first stitches will hide your knots:
3 chain stitches, 2 dc into the hole, 3 chain stitches, 3 dc into the same hole, 1 chain stitch. *3 dc into the next hole, 3 chain stitches, 3 dc into the same hole, 1 chain stitches* Repeat from * to* throughout the round. Finish with a slip stitch into the first dc.
Round 4: Turn your work. Change colour. Keep on in the same manner. In every corner you will make 3 dc, 3 chain stitches, 3 dc into the same hole. In the other holes you will make 3 dc with 1 chain stitch in between. Always finish the round with a slip stitch.
Keep on as long as your yarn will allow you to;)
