Jackie O-Tee
Oooooh, angora. It´s just so soft and gorgeous. We just had to make a top to wear Christmas Eve. With the short sleeves this top will be perfect in the warmth from the fireplace, but will also be great when Spring comes. Stylish with a tiny pleat, and inspired by the 60s - we love it;)

Cast on 144 s on circular needles 21/2. Knit a rib, K1 through the back loop , P1, in the round for about 1.2”.
Swap to US 4 and stockinette. Place marker at the beginning of the round and after 72 s to mark the sides.
On the next round increase 4 (s evenly on the first half (the front), and 20 s evenly on the second half (the back) = 168 s.
Start increasing in each side when the piece is 5.5”.
K1, increase 1 (make 1 right), knit until 1 s remains until the next marker, increase 1 (make 1 left), K2, increase 1 (M1R), knit until 1 s remain of the round, increase 1 (M1L), K1.
Increase like this every 0.4” 5 times in total. Then every second round 5 times in total, and then on every round 16 times in total = 272 s.
Divide the piece, and knit the front and the back piece seperately from here. Measure the pieces from here from now on.
Tip: We use needle 2 1/2 from the wrong side to make a more even result, as we tend to purl looser than we knit.
Front piece
Place marker after 64 s to mark the middle.
Knit back and forth in stockinette for about 4.7” .
Place the 36 s in the middle on some spare needles.
Continue in stockinette on each side of the neck opening. On every row from the right side, you´ll place 1 s on to the spare needles. Do this twice on each side.
Leave the other s on the needle.
Back piece
Place marker after 72 s to mark the middle.
Knit back and forth in stockinette for about masker 4.9” before knitting like this on a row from the right side:
Knit until 17 stitches remain before the marker. Place 8 s on a spare needle. Place the needle in front of the piece.
Place 1 s from the front needle over to the main needle and K2tog. Do this 8times in total.
K2
Place 8 s on to a spare needle. Place the needle in the back of the piece.
Place 1 s from the spare needle over to the main needle, K2tog.
Do this 8 times in total.
Knit the rest of the row.
Neck
Use kitchener´s stocth to assemble the 44 s on each side of the sweater.
Place the remaining s on to the same needle as the needles for the neck from the front piece. Make 2 new stitches in each side (between the front piece and the back piece)
Knit a rib, K1 through the back loop, P1 for about 0.7”. Cast off loosely.
Cufflings
Pick up 44 s. masker. Knit a rib, K1 through the back loop, P1 for about 0.7”. Cast off loosely.
Repeat on the other side.
