This cloth is knit in log cabin technique and youtube has loads of videos on this technique. We really recommend cheching them out before you have a go at the actual pattern. This technique is great for improvising, and that´s what we have done.

Slip the last stitch of each row with the yarn in front. Bind off from the right side, but leave the last stitch on the needle. Join the new colour and pick up new stitches along the edge. Knit as many garter ridges as you like. Bind off and join the third colour in the same manner, before picking up again. Continue until the blanket has the wanted size. Weave in all ends.
