Nice knobs

Do you have a piece of furniture with no soul? Or is your kid´s room pretty dull? These crocheted knobs made a little boy really happy.

PLEASE NOTE: Crochet patterns are in English, not American. .

What you need:
Old knobs, we used some old knobs made out of tree, 4 mm.
Scrapyarn, we used cotton
Crochet needle, 4,5 mm
Needle

How we did it
We wanted these knobs to be really tight, and used a technique called pjoning in Norwegian, also known as Bosnial Crochet. It basically means that you use the slip stitch.

Mushroom

Round 1: Make 3 stitches in a chain. Create a ring by making a slip stitch in the first chain stitch.

Round 2: Crochet 2 slip stitches in each of the three chain stitches.

Round 3-7: Increase every second stitch (Crochet two slip stitches in every second stitch).

Round 8-10: Crochet one slip stitch in every stitch.

Round 11: Change colour to the hem-colour. One slip stitch in every second stitch.

Put the work on the knob.

Round 12-14: One double crochet in every stitch.

Round 15: One slip stitch in the inner part of every stitch. This makes the work tighten around the back of the knob.

Sew on the dots on the red.

The flower

Round 1: Make 3 stitches in a chain using yellow yarn. Create a ring by making a slip stitch in the first chain stitch.

Round 2: Crochet 2 slip stitches in each of the three chain stitches.

Round 3-7: Increase every second stitch (Crochet two slip stitches in every second stitch).

Round 8-10: Change to the pink yarn. Crochet one slip stitch in every stitch.

Round 11: Change colour to the hem-colour. One slip stitch in every second stitch.
Make the petals. First you make 7 loops around the flower. Put the needle into one of the stitches on the first round of pink. Make a slip stitch.Crochet 4 chain stitches, put the needle into the fifth stitch, creating the first loop. Make a slip stitch. Repeat until you have 7 loops.
Make the petals around the loops like this:
1 double crochet, 3 treples, 1 double crochet.
Repeat 6 more times.

Put the work on the knob.

Round 12-14: One double crochet in every stitch.

Round 15: One slip stitch in the inner part of every stitch. This makes the work tighten around the back of the knob.

The cat

Round 1: Make 3 stitches in a chain using beige yarn. Create a ring by making a slip stitch in the first chain stitch.

Round 2: Crochet 2 slip stitches in each of the three chain stitches.

Round 3-7: Increase every second stitch (Crochet two slip stitches in every second stitch).

Round 8-10: Change to the brown yarn. Crochet one slip stitch in every stitch.

Make the ears. First you make two loops like this:
Put the needle into one of the stitches on the last round of beige. Make a slip stitch. Crochet 2 chain stitches, put the needle into the third beige stitch, creating a small loop. Make one slip stitch in each of the next three stitches. Make another loop, 2 chain stitches, one slip stitch in the third stitch.
Make a chain stitch to turn and make the ears around the loops like this:
