Plain bubble dress

Blue dress: Knitted in Pickles Cashmerino Silk or Pickles Extra Fine Merino. The yarn makes a stretchy garment suitable for toddlers on the run;)

Yellow dress: Knitted in a combo of Pickles Thin Organic cotton and Abuelita 3-ply Merino. Makes a garment suitable for spring and summer :)
For the larger sizes the length is shorter, and more like a tunic. We though this was nicer for the bubble shape.

The skirt
Cast on 120 s using double strands. Knit the entire project with double strands.
*Knit 1 round, purl 1 round*
Repeat from * to * 9times in total.
Place marker after 11 - 49 - 71 - 109 stitches, 4 markers in total.
The stitches between the 2nd and 3rd/4th and 1st marker make the sides og the dress. Increasing and decreasing on the skirt will happen between these markers.
Continue in stockinette and increase 10 s evenly in each side = 140 stitches.
Decrease after 1” and every inch from there:
*Knit until you are 2 s away from the first marker, SSK, Knit until the next marker, K2tog*
Repeat from * to * on the other side.
Decrease on 11 rounds in total= 96 stitches.
Knit until the piece is about 14.7”
Knit the 10 stitches in each side in garter stitch over the next 6 rounds (start with purl stitches). The other stitches should still be knitted in stockinette.
Cast off the 4 stitches middle stitches in each side on the next round. Cast off at the middle of the round first, and then the 4 stitches at the end and beginning of the round (all in once) next.
= 88 stitches, 44 stitches for each piece.
Knit the front and back piece separately from here.
Front piece
Continue knitting the stitches in the side in garter stitch and the other stitches in stockinette.
When the piece is 12.2 (14.6) 15 (16.6) 18.1 (19.7) 21.7“ knit 6 rows of garter stitch on all stitches.
On the next row, cast off for opening for the head:
K 12 stitches, cast off 20 stitches loosely, K 12 stitches.
Knit 13 rows in garter stitch on each side of the head opening (finish after a row from the wrong side)
Back piece
Continue knitting the stitches in the sides in garter stitch and the other stitches in stockinette.
When the piece is 12.2 (14.6) 15 (16.6) 18.1 (19.7) 21.7“ knit garter stitch on all stitches.
Finish after a row from the wrong side when the back piece is as long as the front piece.
Use kitcheners stitch to assemble over the shoulders. Cast off the remaining stitches.
If you´d rather cast off and sew, knit 2 more rows on each piece.
