Knit back and forth for 4 rows. Continue in the round and decrease 12 stitches in the first round. (=48 stitches) Continue in stockinette. Place marker after 12 and 36 stitches. Knit until the dress measures 7 cm.</p>
<p>Decrease round: Knit until 3 stitches before the first marker. SSK. Knit 2 stitches. K2tog. Knit until 3 stitches before next marker and repeat the decrease for the other side.</p>
<p>Continue in stockinette until dress measures 10 cm. Repeat decrease round. You have 40 stitches left on your needles. Continue until dress is 13 cm and cast off last stitch before marker and first stitch after marker on each side. (= 36 stitches left) You will finish the front and back piece separately.</p>
<p><strong>Front piece:</strong></p>
<p>1. row: Start from the purl side, K2, purl 10 and K2<br />2. row: Knit<br />3 row: K2, purl 10 and K2<br />4. row: Knit</p>
<p>Front edge:<br />1. row: K2, purl 2, K10, purl2 and K2<br />2. row: Knit<br />3. row: K2, purl 2, K10, purl2 and K2<br />4. row: K6, cast off 6, K6</p>
<p>Knit the straps separately:</p>
<p>1. row: K2, purl 2, K2<br />2. row: Knit</p>
<p>Repeat row 1 and 2 two more times. Leave stitches on needle and knit the other strap.</p>
<p><strong>Back piece:<br /></strong></p>
<p>Follow the pattern for the front piece and knit 4 more rows before the edge.</p>
<p>Assemble the straps with <a href="http://www.knittinghelp.com/apps/flash/video_player/play/189/1">kitchener stitch</a> and weave in all ends.</p>
