Knit all ribbed edges in the same colour, and do not use this colour for the rest of the dress.
Knit stripes in a cronological order of 0.8". Adjust the length of the sleeves and legs to fit the stripes. If the length will increase with more than 0.5", do not knit the last stripe. If not knit the 0.1" like usual.
Change colours from the right side. To avoid too many loose ends, let the yarn travel along.
The suit is knitted top down back and forth double stranded.
Cast on 54 s quite firmly on the longest circular needles.
Knit a rib, K2, P2 for about 2".
On the last row, place markers (PM) like this
PM1 after 10 s.
PM2 4 s after that
PM3 26 s after that
PM4 4 s after that.
Increase row from the right side = 8 new s per row
Increase by all markers like this:
Knit until 1 s remains before the marker, make 1 left, K2, make 1 right.
Increase on every row from the right side 16 times in total = 182 s.
Increase only on the slleves on every row from the right side 3 times in total like this:
Knit until you are 1 s past marker 1, make 1 right, knit until 1 s remains before marker 2, make 1 left, knit until you are 1 s past marker 3, make 1 right, knit until 1 s remains before marker 4, make 1 left.
You now have 194 s.
Place the s between marker 1 and 2 and between marker 3 and 4 onto some scrap yarn for sleeves. Make 4 new s under each sleeve by making backward sleeves.
Knit back and forth in stockinette = 118 s.
Continue until the suit is about 15.8" measured from where you increased the first time.
Start knitting in the round on the smaller circular needles and make 6 new s in the middle between the first and last stitch of the row on the first round = 124 s. PM in the middle of the 6 s in the front, and alos in the middle back, after 62 s.
Make extra room in the back by increaseing on each side of the 6 s s in the middle back on every second round 4 times in total (make 1 right before the 6 s, and make 1 left after the 6 s) = 132 s.
Continue making extra room in the back, but also make extra room in the fron in the same way. Increase on every second round 3 times in total = 144 s.
Knit one round before casting off the 6 s in the middle front and back = 132 s.
Knit each leg seperately in stockinette = 66 s for each leg.
The round starts by the crouch. PM here.
Decrease every 1.2" by knitting this decrease round legs/sleeves:
K1, K2tog, knit until 3 s remain, SSK, K1.
Repeat the decrease 11 times in total = 44 s.
Knit until the leg is 13.2". Decrease 12 s evenly by K2tog on the next round before knitting a rib, K2, P2 for 2" = 32 s.
Cast off loosely and knit another leg.
Make 4 new s under the sleeve = 46 s. The round starts in the middle of these 4 s, PM here.
Continue in stockinette in the round and reepat the decrease round legs/sleeves (look above) every 1.6" 6 times in total = 28 (30) 32 (32) 34 s.
Continue in stockinette until the sleeve is 10".
Decrease 6 s evenly on the next round = 28 s.
Continue in rib, K2, P2 for about 2" before casting off. Knit another sleeve.
Sew the holes under the sleeves from the inside.
Pick up about 20 s per every 4» along the she side where you want buttons.
Knit a rib, K2, P2 for 1.3" before casting off.
Pick up the same amount of s on the other side Knit a rib, K2, P2 for about 0.5. Make 7 button holes like this before 2 purl stitches, P2tog, YO.
Make the button holes evenly.
Continue in rib pattern until the front band is 1.3" before casting off.
Overlap the front bands and sew it to the lower opening.
