Spin-a-round-dress

A dress for festive occations. With a wide dress and gorgeous weave stitch details this is a dress every little girl will love:)

Yarn
Abuelita 3-ply, main colour, 200 (200) 300 (400) g
Abuelita 3-ply, pattern colour, 100 g
Pickles Pure Alpaca, weave stitch colour, held double, 100 (150) 150 (150) g

Needles
32” or 40” circular needles US 3 and 4.
DP needles US 3.

Waist measured flat

NOTE!
Measure the skirt while holding up, as the weigth will pull it down a bit.
From the waist up, measure everything lying flat.


Skirt
Cast on 432 s in Abuelita pattern colour on US 3.
Knit weave stitch in the round like this:
Round 1: Knit in Abuelita pattern colour.
Round 2: Purl in Abuelita pattern colour.
Round 3: *Slip 1 with yarn in back, K1 with Pickles Pure Alpaca held double*
Repeat from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 4:* Slip 1 with yarn in back, P1 with Pickles Pure Alpaca held double*
Repeat from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 5: Knit in Abuelita pattern colour.
Round 6: Purl in Abuelita pattern colour.
Round 7: *K1 with Pickles Pure Alpaca held double, slip 1 with yarn in back*
Repeat from * to * until the end of the round.
Round 8:*P1 with Pickles Pure Alpaca held double, slip 1 with yarn in back*
Repeat from * to * until the end of the round.

Repeat the paragraph above 3 times in total.
Knit one round and purl one round in Abuelita pattern colour.

Change to Abuelita main colour and stockinette un US 4.
On the first round, place a marker at the beginning of the round and 11 more markers with
36 s in between = 12 markers in total.

Knit 0.8” in stockinette and decrease on each side of each of the 12 markers like this:
When 3 s remain until the marker, SSK, K2, K2tog.

Repeat this every 1.2"”  12 times in total = 144 s.

Remove all markers and place 2 new ones in the sides, after 36 s and when 36 s remain on the next round.

Continue back and forth from here.
To make the dress symmetrical in the back when you latern on add front bands, slip the 2 last s just knitted back on to the left needle. The row now starts here.
Continue in weave stitch back and forth on US 3:
Row 1 and 2: Knit in Abuelita pattern colour
Row 3: *Slip 1 with yarn in back, knit 1 in Pickles Pure Alpaca held double*
Repeat from * to * until end of row.
Row 4: *Knit 1 in Pickles Pure Alpaca held double, slip 1 with yarn in FRONT*
Repeat from * to * until end of row.
Row 5 and 6: Knit in Abuelita pattern colour
Row 7: *Knit 1 in Pickles Pure Alpaca held double, slip 1 with yarn in back*
Repeat from * to * until end of row.
Row 8: *Knit 1 with yarn in FRONT, Knit 1 in Pickles Pure Alpaca held double*
Repeat from * to * until end of row.

Repeat the paragraph above 3 times.
Knit 2 rows in Abuelita pattern colour.

Continue in stockinette in main colour and US 4. On the first row increase 3 s evenly vefore the first marker, 6 s evenly on the front piece, and 3 s evenly after the last marker = 156 s.
When the piece measures 2.7 (3.1) 3.9 (4.3)” from the start of the weave stitch you separate the piece into front and back pieces in the sides.

Right back piece
Knit the 37 s in stockinette and make 8 new s for the sleeve by making bakward loops on the needle at the end of the needles (only on one side, towards the arm) 5 times in total = 78 s.
Continue in stockienette until the piece is 8.6” from the beginning of the weave stitch in the waist.
Leave the s on spare needles for later.
Left back piece
Knit it like the right one, but be aware that you’ll have 4 more s here because you moved the 2 s over = 34 (37) 41 (44) s.

The front piece
Knit the 78 s back and forth in stockinette.
Make 8 new stitches in each end for sleeves 5 times in total = 158 s.
Continue in stockinette until the piece is 7.5” from the beginnning of the weave stitch in the waist.
On the next row K 67 cast off 24, K 67.
Knit each part separately.
K2tog at the side where the neck opening is on every row from the right side 4 times in total.
Continue until each piece is 8.6” from the beginnning of the weave stitch in the waist.

Use kitchener’s stitch join the front and back pieces (look it up on youtube,com if you’re not familiar with it). Start by the end of the sleeve, and leave the leftover s in the neck for neck lining.
Neck lining
Pick up 32 s along the neck opening in the front. Place the left over s in the back on to the same needles. The beginning of the round should be at the opening in the back.
Use Abuelita pattern colour and knit 2 rows.
Cast off by knitting 2 together as if you were to purl them. Place the s back on to the left needles and repeat until end of row.

Front band
Us Abuelita pattern colour and pick up 50 along the right back piece.
Knit 2 rows. On the next row knit 9 button holes evenly like this: K2tog, YO.

Knit 2 rows. Cast off like you did in the neck.

Cuffs
Sew the sleeves together from the inside.
Pick up 40 s with Abuelita pattern colour on DP needles US 3.
Knit DP needles in the round. Follow the weave stitch pattern in the round at the start of this pattern.

Repeat the paragraph 2 times in total.
Knit one round, purl one round.
Cast off like in the neck.
