The poncho is knitted in two strands of yarn held together. Cast on 68 s on short US needles 9,  *Purl 5 rounds, knit 10 rounds* until your piece measures 13 (14) 14 (15)". On the last round of knitting increase 28 s evenly distributed around the round. (= 96 s) Change to 7 mm needles and start working daisies:

Tip: Be generous with the yarn! It´s important that the daisies are loosely knitted and that you ”give” enough yarn when knitting the 3 s together, or else you will struggle with the knitting.

Increase rounds
Change to MC and knit one. Purl the whole next round  while at the same time increase 16 s by purling 2 times in each of the 4 first stitches on the round, (purl in both the back and the front loop. This can be a little tricky.) purl 40 s. Then purl 2 times in each of the 8 next s, purl 40 s and purl 2 times in each of the 4 last s on the round.

You will increase in the same manner each time you work the MC, but with 8 more stitches between the increases for each time, making all the increases end up in the middle front and middle back.

Examples on the following rounds
Increase in the first 4 s, purl 48 s, increase in the next 8 s, purl 48 s, increase in the last 4 s.

Work daisies.

Increase in the first 4 s, purl 56 s, increase in the next 8, purl 56 s, increase in the last 4 s.

Work daisies.

Continue with increase rounds and daisies until you have increased 11 times or as long as you like the poncho. End with an increase round. Change back to US 9 needles. Work ribbing K2, P2 for about 1 inch and bind off loosely.
