A scarf looks good all year round, you just need one in the right materials. Viscose jersey drapes in a really nice way and actually feels cooling. Here´s a small diy project for lazy days; all you need to make these summery braid scarves is scissors and fabric. We made tree different versions:
Materials
3 + yards of viscose jersey makes 3 scarves (you cut the fabric lenghtwise and need the 3 yards to wrap it around your neck a couple of times)
Scissors or fabric cutting tool.
How to do it
Cut your fabric lengthwise in 3. Cut away the edges if they don´t look good (Our fabric had some kind of glue on it).
Big braid
Split the ends of the scarf into 3 even parts. The cuts shoud be about 15 inches long. Split the outermost 4 inches again into as many parts as you can to make the tassels. Make the braids and wind a small strip of fabric tight around the ends where the braiding ends and the tassels starts.
Repeat for the other side.
Three strikes
Split the ends of the scarf into 3 even parts. The cuts shoud be about 15 inches long. Split the 3 parts into 3 again. Make the braids and tie a knot on each end. Cut off any excess fabric.
Individual braids
Split the ends of the scarf into 3 even parts. The cuts shoud be about 15 inches long. Cut each of the three parts into 7 and make 7 braids. Repeat for the other side. Tie a knot on each braid and cut off any excess fabric.
