This cable pattern reminded us of a honey comb, and with this colour - you do the math :) The sweet honey sweater is made from Pickles Pure Alpaca, and we just think it is super good looking!
C4F: Place 2 s on cable needle in front of the work. K2s. Knit the s from cable needle.
C4B: Place 2 s on cable needle in back of the work. K2s. Knit the s from cable needle.
Cast on 172 s on 32” US 10 needles with double strands of yarn. Work ribbing in the round, K1, P1 for 2”.
Then work in the following manner:
Initial round: Change to US 11 needles. Knit while increasing 52 s evenly on the round. = 224 s. Place markers at the beginning of the round and after 112 s to mark the sides.
Round 1: Knit
Round 2: *C4B, C4F* Repeat between * and * throughout the round.
Round 3, 4 and 5: Knit
Round 6: *C4F, C4B* Repeat between * and * throughout the round.
Round 7 og 8: Knit
Repeat these 8 rounds until the piece measures about 18”. End with a round 4 or 8. Divide into front and back pieces.
Knit back and forth. Start from the wrong side. If you ended with a round 4, start row 5 below, if you ended with a round 8, start row 1.
Row 1: Purl
Row 2: *C4B, C4F* Repeat between * and * throughout the row.
Row 3: Purl
Row 4: Knit
Row 5: Purl
Row 6: *C4F, C4B* Repeat between * and * throughout the row.
Row 7 : Purl
Row 8: Knit
Repeat these rows until the piece measures about 25.5”. End with a row 3 or 7.
Use kitcheners stitch to assemble 37 s on each side of the shoulder. Use US 10 needles and work ribbing, K1, P1 for 8”. Bind off.
With US 10 needles pick up 54 s around the arm openings. Work ribbing, K1, P1 for 16.5” or as long as you like. You might want to tighten the cuffs a bit by knitting tha last two inches with a smaller needle. (US 6 or 7). Bind off. Rinse and block slightly. Dry flat.
