Sweetie-pie-kit

The bubble-dress is made longer for the larger sizes, but it´s more functional with a shorter version for newborns. As the brioche makes this garment very stretchy it can be used as a vest when it´s too short to be a dress.

Pickles Pure Alpaca

If you´re only knitting the tunic, you´ll need 50 g of each pattern colour. You can also use Pickles Thin Organic Cotton (see picture below)
We used viol, artichoke and sunshine/Dahlia, crisp raspberry and tulip.

Small circular and DP needles US 7
DP needles US 5
Crochet hook D; E F or G

Rib 20 s
Fishermans rib 12 s

Width

Dress
Knitted top down.
Cast on 47 stitches on circular needles US 7 using the first pattern colour.
Knit a rib K1, P1 back and forth for about 0.8”.
On the next row from the right side, change to the next pattern colour.
Knit like this:
*K1, YO*.
Repeat from * to *, but finish off with a knit stitch = 93 s.
Turn and knit on in rib, P1, K1 (all the YO should be knitted).
When the work is 2”, change to the base colour. Start knitting fisherman´s rib on a row from the right side.

Row 1:
Slip 1, * K1, K1 in the stitch on the row below*.
Repeat from * to * until 1 stitch remains. K1.

Row 2:
Slip 1, * K1 in the stitch on the row below , K1*.
Repeat from * to * until 1 stitch remains. K1.

After 4 rows, cast off for sleeve holes. Continue in Fisherman´s rib:
Knit 13, cast off 20, knit 27, cast off 20, knit 13.

On the next row, cast on 4 stitches under each sleeve. = 61 s.
After 3 more rows, start knitting in the round on a row from the right side.
On the first round, cast on 1 stitch at the end of the round.
= 62 s.

Round 1:
*K1, P1 in the stitch on the round below*.
Repeat from * to *.

Round 2:
*K1 in the stitch on the round below, P1*.
Repeat from * to *.

When the work is 9.4”, and you´ve just completed round 2, start knitting a rib, K1, P1 for about 0.8 ”. Cast off loosely.

Single crochet around the opening in the back, and make a small loop for the button.

Hat

Cast on 66 stitches loosely on DP needles US 5. Knit a rib, K1, P1 for about 0.8”. Start knitting Fisherman´s rib in the round:

Round 1:
*K1 in the stitch on the round below, P1*.
Repeat from * to *.

Round 2:
*K1, P1 in the stitch on the round below*.
Repeat from * to *.

When the work is 4.3”, and you´ve just completed round 1. start knitting a rib. K1, P1 for about 1.2”.
On the next round, knit like this:
K1, * Slip 2 stitches as if you were to knit them, K1, lift the two stitches over the one you knitted, K1, P1, K1*.
Repeat from * to *, but on the last repeat, don´t knit the last stitch.

Leg warmers
Cast on 26 stitches LOOSELY on DP needles US 5.
Knit a rib, K1, P1 for 1.2”.
Start knitting Fisherman´s rib in the round:

Round 1:
*K1 in the stitch on the round below, P1*.
Repeat from * to *.

Round 2:
*K1, P1 in the stitch on the round below*.
Repeat from * to *.

When the work is 5.1”, and you´ve just finished round 1, start knitting a rib again, K1, P1 for 1.2”. Cast off LOOSELY.
