Two way dress

This two way dress is knit in Pickles Pure Alpaca, and is warm and great for winter weather. It is easy to knit with the same amount of stitches all the way up, only shaped by the different knitting tecniques.

Needles
16” and 34” circular needle US 7. You don´t need the short needle on the larger sizes

Gauge
Brioche: about 14 s
Ribbing about 20 s

Waist measures
9.5 (10.2) 11 (11.5) flat. The fabric is elastic.

The dress can also be knitted in Pickles Extra Fine Merino (Grey and turquoise dress)

Cast on 110 s on long circular needle US 7 with MC. Join in the round. Repeat what is between * and * throughout the rounds.

Round 1: *K1, P1*.
Round 2: *K1, Slip 1 s with yarn in front*.
Round 3: * Slip 1 s with yarn in back, P1*.
Round 4: *K1, P1*.
Round 5: Switch to CC. *K1, P1*.

Switch back to MC. Change colour every round from now on out until otherwise stated.

Round 6: *K1 in the stitch below, P1*
Round 7: *K1, P1 in the stitch below *.

Repeat round 6 and 7 until the piece measures 15”. On the next round with MC start repeating round 2 and 3, only with MC from now on. You can abandon the CC now.

Repeat round 2 and 3 for 1”.

Divide the work in two, 55 s on each part and knit front and back separately. Start knitting rib, K1, P1. Slip the first stitch on each row. When the first stitch is a purl stitch, remember to slip with yarn in front. Do this for the rest of the dress.

Front
Knit ribbing for 4.5 ”. On the next row knit ribbing for 17 s. Bind off 21 s and continue in ribbing. Knit each strap separately 1.5 ” before you bind off.

Back
Knit ribbing for 6”. Bind off.

Sew the straps onto the back upper edge really neat so it can be used on both sides. Weave in all ends.
