Pickles Window Takeover: Marita Harvey / @secondknit

In Markveien, right in the heart of Oslo, we give knitwear designers the opportunity to exhibit their creations in our shop window. This is a unique chance for designers to showcase their work to a wide audience, while celebrating knitwear design as an art form.

Now we have the pleasure of handing the Pickles window over to Marita Harvey, the creator behind Secondknit. If you like clean lines, airy texture, simple constructions with little surprises and knitwear that looks modern, you’ve probably stopped by her work before. Marita herself describes her style as easy but elevated, an expression that is perfect for garments that are both uncomplicated and accomplished.

Marita designs knitwear and runs Secondknit, where she shares projects, yarn choices, color palettes and styling. She has created a universe that appeals both to knitters who like patterns with a clear structure and to those who want to knit something quickly that still looks “finished”. She represents sophisticated, timeless garments, a sense of mastery for the knitter, smart constructions and playful yarn and color choices. She styles her knitwear with her everyday wardrobe, which makes it easy to imagine how you can wear the garments. Marita believes that knitwear should be fun and practical; it should be worn, loved and have a long life. If you want to see more, follow her on Instagram: @secondknit.

What does she show at Pickles?

In the window you will find selected projects in Pickles yarn. You will see the new Teddie Bag as well as some of Marita’s favorites, Kai Cardigan, Romy Top and Alaska Hat knitted up in soft Pickles qualities.
