Knit from the right side;
K 16, put the next 25 stitches on a thread for the arm, K 38, put the next 25 stitches on a thread, K 16.
You have now separated the body piece from the arms.
Knit in stockinette back and forth until the piece is about 8.4”.

Front bands
You will now make front bands for buttons and button holes. Put a stitch marker in the beginning and the end of the needles. Pick up 38 stitches along both sides of the cardiagn for front bands. Use the same needles as for the body piece. You will have 146 stitches in all.
Cut the thread. Start knitting at the beginning of the needles, from the wrong side.
Every time you are knitting from the right side, you´ll increase one stitch on each side of the stitch marker= 4 stitches per row. This way you´ll create a rounded corner for the front bands.
Knit back and forth. After about 0.4” you´ll make button holes like this on one of the front bands:
K 3 * K2tog. YO, K4* Repeat from * to * five times in total. K2tog, YO, continue knitting like usual. Keep on knitting until the front band is about 1”. Cast off.

Put the stitches on you needles. Cast on 4 stitches right under the arm. Knit in the round in stockinette until the sleeve is 3.5”. Knit 1 round, purl 1 round for the next 1”. Cast off. Repeat on the other side.

Cast on 70 stitches. Knit in the round.
Round 1-5: Knit
Round 6: Purl
Repeat these 6 rounds  6 times in total.
Knit 4 rounds. On the next round you´ll start decreasing like this:
*K 8, K2tog* Repeat from * to * till the round is completed.
Purl 1 round
Repeat these 6 rounds 5 times in total, but every time you ´ll decrease you´ll knit one less stitch between the K2tog. The last time you´ll cast off you will K2tog throughout the round, with no knit stitches in between.
Knit 5 more rounds and pull the thread through the remaining stitches.
Knit from under to foot and upwards in one piece. Assemble along the side at the end.
Cast on 38 stitches. Knit back and forth.

Repeat until you have finished row 10 with P11, K 8, P 11.
Start knitting a rib, K 1, P 1 over the next 3.5”. You can knit in the round to avoid the seam after. Or you can just continue knitting back and forth if you find it hard to do.
